А, в тексте на английском из популярного сетевого блога Science Blogs, многие читатели полагают, что вот такие опыты с огнем вполне реальны. И это, не есть плод их воспаленного воображения. Автор англоязычного блога, пишет о таких паронармальных явлениях, имеющих место с известными личностями. Кароче бред. Искусство ради денег, и деньги от искусства, вот основополагающий принцип появления креатива.
One of my favorite phenomena that represents better than perhaps any other how humans are wired to look for patterns, whether there is a pattern there or not, is the phenomenon known as pareidolia. As a Catholic-turned-sort-of-heathen, in particular I like Virgin Mary pareidolia, and have blogged about multiple such incidents. Of course, the Virgin Mary is not the only sort of image seen in pareidolia. Jesus shows up quite frequently as well.
Now, would you believe that the late Pope John Paul II is showing up in flames? No, really.
The Pope was not the only person who as the photographer said “had made many pilgramages during his life and was still making them in death”. Paul McCartney, Elvis Presley and Jimmy Connors have all also appeared in the bonfire.

Я полагаю, дизайнеров нельзя обвинять в таком необычном предложении. Видимо, на такие какцелярские прдметы, существует определенный спрос. А как мы все знаем, спрос рождает предложение, а может и наоборот.

Вечером 14 ноября 2007 года, на торги аукционного дома современного Искусства Sotheby, будут выставлены, два живописных полотна Фрэнсиса Бэкона, под названием "Коррида" (Bull fight № 1) и автопортрет художникаВ этой аукционной сессии, будут выставлены произведения, пользующиеся спросом, художников: Джефф Коонс, Марк Ротко, Жан-Мишель Баскиат, Энди Вархол, Дональд Джадд и Эд Рэйнхард.
Оба полотна Бэкона представила галерея "Private Collection", где картины находились последние десятилетия."Коррида" №1 выполненная художником в 1969 году, одна из трёх, которая посвящена этой теме. Предполагаемая, окончательная цена этого живописного полотна, по оценкам специалистов, может достичь 35 миллионов американских долларов.

NEW YORK, NY.- On the evening of November 14, 2007, Sotheby’s sale of Contemporary Art in New York will feature two important paintings by Francis Bacon, Second Version of Study for Bullfight No. 1, and Self Portrait, among other works by artists such as Jeff Koons, Mark Rothko, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Donald Judd and Ad Reinhardt, among others.
Both works by Bacon will be offered from a European Private Collection, where they have been for a number of decades.
Executed in 1969, Second Version of Study for Bullfight No. 1, 1969, comes from a series of three paintings depicting the subject.
The present canvas is estimated to sell for in excess of $35 million (estimates do not include buyer’s premium).
From the same year, Bacon’s Self Portrait, painted when he was 60, is estimated to sell for more than $15 million.

Attention spans are getting shorter, thanks to clutter. In 1960, the typical stay for a book on the New York Times bestseller list was 22 weeks. In 2006, it was two. Forty years ago, it was typical for three novels a year to reach #1. Last year, it was 23.
Advise and Consent won the Pulitzer Prize in 1960. It’s 640 pages long. On Bullshit was a bestseller in 2005; it’s 68 pages long. Commercials used to be a minute long, sometimes two. Then someone came up with the brilliant idea of running two per minute, then four. Now there are radio ads that are less than three seconds long. It’s not an accident that things are moving faster and getting smaller. There’s just too much to choose from. With a million or more books available at a click, why should I invest the time to read all 640 pages of Advise and Consent when I can get the idea after 50 pages?
Audible.com offers more than 30,000 titles. If an audiobook isn’t spectacular, minute to minute, it’s easier to ditch it and get another one than it is to slog through it. After all, it’s just bits on my iPod. Of course, this phenomenon isn’t limited to intellectual property. Craigslist.org is a free classified-ad listing service.
A glance at their San Francisco listings shows more than 33,000 ads for housing. That means that if an apartment doesn’t sound perfect after just a sentence or two, it’s easy to glance down at the next ad. If you're exhausted, it's no wonder. You've been running around all day.
